Queen of Hills


Mussoorie, also known as the Queen of the Hills, is recognized as one of country's most popular hill stations. In 1827, a Britisher named Captain Frederick Young, accompanied by an official named FJ Shore, climbed up the hill from the Doon valley and discovered this ridge offering great views and a pleasant climate. This visit laid the groundwork for this magnificent hill station. 

It is an enticing paradise for leisure travellers and honeymooners, and it is an ideal summer resort. Mussoorie is situated at a height of 2,000 metres above sea level on a 15-kilometer-long horseshoe ridge with the majestic Himalayas as a backdrop. It provides scenic views of Himalayan peaks in Western Garhwal from this vantage point.

  • The flora and blossoms: The Company Garden's main draw is its wide range of flora. The lush green carpeted lawn of the Company Gardens is covered with over 800 types of flowering plants, and most of these flowers are in bloom from late spring to the end of monsoon, making the place look like heaven's garden. There are whites and pastels, as well as bright and colourful blooms such as dahlias, pansies, petunias, and lilies.
  • The Rides & Amusement Park: Inside the Company Garden, there is an amusement park to keep your little ones entertained. There are several rides that are both safe and exciting enough to enjoy with your children. Try the Columbus (the giant ship that sways up and down), hanging from the bar, and the bull ride, though the latter is not suitable for very small children.
  • Eating & Shopping: The Company Garden has its own food court that serves hygienic and delicious food. You can refresh yourself with a fun and delicious snack here. There are also about 10-12 shops on the premises that sell small souvenirs and trinkets to take home with you. There is also a shop where you can have yourself photographed by a professional photographer while dressed in authentic Himachali attire.
  • Telescopic View: The telescopic view of the surrounding Himalayan Mountains, which are otherwise distant and obscured by grey mist, costs only Rs 10. It's a fantastic experience for a very low price. The person in charge will identify the peaks for you.
